Laser lipo procedure

There might be some confusion over laser lipo procedure so I will take this post to clarify some of the confusion over how the procedure works and dispel some of the myths about laser lipo.

In a nutshell, laser lipo procedure is about using the heat from a laser to melt the fats in your body and remove them via another device. This procedure is meant to be as minimally intrusive as possible.  In traditional lipo, a ’scraping’ method is used of which the surgeon will insert a tube into the targeted area and begin sucking the fats out. Compared to traditional lipo, the cannula used is much smaller in laser lipo and this is why it is not as invasive as traditional liposuction.  During the operation, a surgeon will insert a tiny tube into the targeted area where you want to remove the fats. Once inserted, the heat emitted from the laser will then melt the fatty deposits. A second vacuum-like tube will then be inserted to drain off the fats. The remaining is absorbed and cleaned up by what is called a lymphatic system. During this entire process, the surrounding tissue will not be affected and this why the recovery period for laser lipo is also much faster.

For the entire laser lipo operation, the duration is around one hour. Patients need only to stay in the hospital for at most a day before being discharged. There are even some patients who can go home on the same day as the operation, after 3 hours of rest. During the procedure, the patient needs only to be put under local anesthesia. However, if you have low tolerance for pain, you might consider general anesthesia, although it implies you will incur more hospitalization since you need to least stay overnight at the hospital.

Laser lipo is not a miracle cure for obesity. It is still advisable to go through dieting and proper exercising to lose fats. This is a far more healthier alternative than going through surgical operations. However, for areas that are hard to lose fats through these means, then laser lipo might be a possible solution. It is especially ideal for areas like chin or neck liposuction, where it is hard to get rid of the fats stored in your facial area.

After the procedure, the recovery period is actually quite fast. During the initial phase, you might experience some nimbleness or slight discomfort in your operated area.  For people who have went through facial laser lipo, the effects are slightly stronger and you will need a longer recovery time. For the rest of the other procedures, a week or so is all you need to completely heal. During this period, doctors will prescibe some painkillers for those who have low pain tolerance.

Before I end, I like to touch on a separate but related topic. The most concern people have with laser lipo is the prices. It is not a cheap procedure by any means. However, as I mentioned before, prices of laser liposuction can vary quite a bit and it is best you do some research before deciding on the procedure that is right for me. In fact, the cheapest laser lipo I have come across is from Jacksonville in Florida. For an operation on the upper and lower abdomen, the costs is less than $2000. So, if you are living in Florida, you might want to find out where this clinic is. (Btw: i wrote a post on vaser lipo in Florida in case you want more information). Another cheap region for laser lipo is Brentwood in Texas. The patient paid around $2,100 for a laser lipo procedure on her abdomen. So, again, if you are looking for cheaper laser lipo, Texas might be an alternative.

In summary, I want you to be realistic about laser lipo. It is a relatively simple and safe procedure but it is only a one off solution. If you carry on an unhealthy lifestyle, chances are you will gain the weight back.  So, be sure to commit to a healthier living after the operations for you to reap its benefits.

I hope you like this post on laser lipo procedure.
